The Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) Program allows students who have graduated from eligible Canadian designated learning institutions (DLIs) to obtain an open work permit to gain valuable Canadian work experience. 1 year program = 1 year PGWP 2 years or more = 3 years PGWP

The PNP Program is for workers who have the skills, education and work experience to contribute to the economy of a specific province or territory, wants to live in that province and wants to become permanent residents of Canada. No, you must have applied for your Post Grad Work Permit (PGWP) – Once you do so you are now on implied status while you wait for it to be processed. Any work you do during this time counts towards your Canadian work experience. Otherwise your work experience counts only after you’ve gotten your Post Grad Work Permit.
No, when you apply for your study permit it will be rejected. You must apply for Post Grad Certificate/Diploma or even a Masters Program.
You must have had your degree from your home country evaluated, taken one of the suggested English test (CELPIP, IELTS), at least 1 experience in a Tier 0, 1, 2 or 3 Job whether in Canada or from your home country.
The school you attended for your post-graduate degree/certificate/diploma in Canada must a Designated Learning Institution (DLI) for at least one year. Click here to check if your school is a DLI.
Yes, you can apply for a Work Permit (WP) for your spouse to work in Canada while you attend school here. The WP usually lasts for the duration of your studies. Once you complete your program (from a DLI) and apply for your PGWP You can renew your spouse’s WP which which will then last for the duration of your PGWP.
